The Weekend at a Glance
July 10 & 11, 2027 · Cleveland, Ohio — it's official! The main gathering will be at Lutheran West High School, where the gym, the Longhorn Room, and the outdoor commons are reserved for Saturday, July 10. The sections below will keep filling in as the planning crew locks down details.
Schedule
The draft shape of the weekend — times and details are still coming together:
- Friday, July 9 — arrivals in Cleveland; an optional golf outing; optional casual dinner gathering in the evening (location to be announced)
- Saturday, July 10 — morning activity options (an old-Cleveland tour, park games for the kids); afternoon down time; then the main gathering at Lutheran West — dinner, the big family photo, live music, presentations, a talent show, stories and history, and games
- Sunday, July 11 — worship together; lunch (a picnic, maybe); departures — plus a possible family heritage tour of old Cleveland neighborhoods or an optional afternoon outing
Activity Ideas
Cleveland has no shortage of options for the free blocks of the weekend. Ideas being explored:
- Rocky River Reservation (Cleveland Metroparks) — kayak rentals, trails, playgrounds, and picnic spots where the Rocky River meets Lake Erie, ten minutes from Lutheran West
- Canoeing at Canal Fulton Canoe Livery
- Biking the Rocky River valley (rentals available nearby)
- Lake Erie Nature & Science Center
- Cleveland Museum of Natural History
- West Side Market
- A Cleveland Guardians game
- A Lake Erie beach day at Huntington Reservation

Lodging
Cleveland-area options are being gathered — hotel room blocks near the venue, plus possible dorm-style rooms at a local university (around $40/night, double occupancy, pending confirmation). Each family will be asked for a room-count estimate soon, so start thinking about what your crew needs.
